2018Workshop

The cities, alleyways, and vacant lots visible on Google Street View are populated by anonymous individuals with bodies distorted by the strange perspective of the fisheye cameras. Bodies float, disappear, and intersect.

Using a selection of images of pedestrians collected from Google Street View near George Méliès Middle School in Paris, 6th-grade students created photographic scenes to give corporeality to these ghostly silhouettes. This journal presents an investigation into the identity of these unknown individuals with masked faces.

Photography workshop conducted with a school class as part of Mon Journal du Monde at Le BAL, Paris. Photographs created during the workshop + edition published by Le Bal.
